Gordon
was picked up as a stray, likely abandoned, by the West Side Albuquerque
Animal Services Division. Kept in the city shelter for less than
one week, Doberman Rescue of New Mexico took him into foster care.
He required surgery including neutering, 7 tooth extractions, and
peri-anal tumor removal. He was also treated for roundworm infestation.
Gordon is currently in foster care, but truly needs a home of his
own
Gordon is 10-11 years old, red, has natural ears and a docked tail.
Gordon is very small (60lbs.) and gentle. Though not obedience trained, he is
very easy on a leash and stays with his person off leash. He comes to hand signals
when he's close enough to see you and will stay somewhat with an open hand signal.
He is basically deaf. He is very polite with other dogs but doesn't seem to like cats.
Gordon is timid to lots of activity and will go lie down if over-stimulated by other animals.
He is timid and always takes some time to recognize you, but is very loving and gentle.
Gordon is fairly spry for his age and runs and bounces around for short times, no orthopedic
or arthritic concerns are evident.
This sweet guy needs soft food, because of his lack of many teeth, has trouble hearing,
and has cataracts.
Doberman Rescue of New Mexico will place Gordon within a couple hundred miles of Albuquerque,
which includes parts of Colorado, Texas, and Arizona.
