Our Fergie hasn't lived the luxury of a Duchess, but we hope to change that for her in her golden years. She and Red were turned into the local animal control, the owner stating that they were moving. They are 9 years old. We were told they lived inside but in a crate. We don't quite know all the details but can tell you that Fergie is very scared and seems to not have had a lot of human interaction. She wants desperately to love and please you but just doesn't know what to do. Originally she was with Red in a foster home and seemed quite happy and outgoing. We know it is not feasible to find a home for both of them together so we decided we would separate them now so they could get used to it. Fergie is doing well in her foster home without Red, but you can definitely tell Red was the leader. It took her quite a while to gain a bit of confidence. She is with a few other dogs and is doing well. She is also learning how to enjoy being pet and rubbed by a loving human. Fergie is acting more like a typical Dobe. She is working on her Doberlean and Dobersmile. She loves toys and loves to carry them around. She also likes to collect as many as she can. We do not recommend a home with cats, but kids are fine with this Dober-lady. She is very quiet and clean in her crate and appears to be housebroken.
