Sara has her own home-made music video available for viewing on our website and on DAR&E’s website – be sure to watch her and get a sense of how wonderful she is!!!

Check out this video of Sara! (Windows Movie .wmv File)

Sara was originally one of 3 Dobes seized in a neglect case (left outside in a pen with no food, water or shelter). Doberman Assistance, Rescue, and Education (DAR&E)fostered her in July of 2002 and she was originally quite anxious around the other dogs. Eventually, however, she settled in and learned to trust and play with them after she determined they weren't going to fight her for her food or chewies. She was placed after 5 weeks and then returned in July of 2003 due to the adopters’ deteriorating marital situation. Over the past year, she has several appointments with adopters, but they always pass her up in favor of a younger dog.

She is a beautiful blue with a great coat and is extremely sweet. Sara is now 7 years old, but one would think she is 3. She is cropped, docked, and spayed. Sara is a bit of a nervous nellie, and will pace when nervous or when there is lots of activity. She loves people and goes around from person to person, sitting on their feet and looking back and up at them if they stop petting her as if to say "Helloooo, remember what you were doing here?" She is not destructive, is housetrained and an easy dog to have around if her nervousness doesn't make you nervous. Her foster mom simply ignores the nervousness and she gets better every day. She deserves to have her own home where she could have her own things and not have to worry about the other dogs taking them. She also needs her walks and one-on-one time with her person. She loves to snuggle and will give you her paw when she wants attention. She likes to put her paws on her foster mom’s shoulders each morning and stretch while getting her tummy rubbed.
