Avita was turned into rescue due to a terminal illness in her human family. Her former owner has neither the time nor money to devote to Avita's needs. Avita received all kinds of love and attention from the time she was a tiny puppy. Her owner feels it is now best for her to live with a family that can give Avita the time and medical attention she deserves.

Avita is 7 years old, black/tan, spayed, cropped, and docked. She is micro-chipped, current on all vaccinations, and on heartworm preventatives. Avita is also good with children and other dogs, but has no exposure to cats. She is very good with the vet during her visits, allowing herself to be examined without any difficulty. She had some fatty lipomas on her side, which were removed recently. She walks with a limp, favoring one back leg, and examination and x-rays show some arthritis. Her weight of 102 pounds only exacerbates that problem. However, it doesn't stop her from jumping in and out of the back of an SUV -- she loves to ride in the car, and behaves like the perfect lady once on the road!
