Lucy’s owner could no longer care for or keep dog due to "moving situation" and was brought to rescue rather than turning into shelter. She is 7 years old, red/tan, cropped, docked, and spayed. Lucy is housebroken, crate-trained, and obedience and off-leash trained. She is excellent with other dogs and kids. She is good with most cats, but likely will engage in chasing one that runs. She is a very relaxed and calm dog, but does enjoy periodic romping. She loves to play fetch, and unbelievably, she actually gives the retrieved toy back unlike the typical stubborn retrieving Dobes. She loves car rides and long walks. She is taking medication for a slight incontinence problem. She has a poor coat that is probably due to poor nutrition, and her thyroid test was negative. It is expected that her coat will improve with proper care. She is very structurally sound - she zips up and down stairs!
