Zeuss

Cynthia Miller, her husband and six children live in Cincinnati, OH with Zeuss, a one year red old male
Dobe that was given to them. Zeuss has developed a large growth on his neck that must be taken care of.
The vet has taken a needle biopsy but the results were inconclusive. So additional tests are required.
The family lives on a small income and cannot afford those tests and the treatment that may follow.
Zeuss is a very sweet boy and has become very attached to the family. He is a constant companion to the
children and is very protective of them.
SND has spoken to their vet and she is still consulting with some other specialists in the area.
She stated that the growth is growing very rapidly and the first report came back stating that the
growth was a histiocytoma. (There is an excellent explanation about histiocytomas at
Hystiocytoma.)
The two possibilities for treatment will be surgery to remove the growth and/or chemo treatments if
that is deemed necessary. SND authorized the vets to pursue the additional tests that may be required --
at this point the vet suggested that they may have to put him under in order to take a wedge biopsy to
have sufficient tissue to analyze. Followup treatments may be pursued at Ohio State University.
