Willow in hydrotherapy
- HUH?? HEY!!! I'm getting wet!! Oh well, might as well go for a walk!!
Willow is a sweet three year old red Dobiegirl (she’s a Pilot Dog) who has been “partnered” with her blind DobeDad, Chuck for the last year and a half. She lives with a menagerie of 4 parrots, 3 ferrets, 2 cats, 5 koi, 6 goldfish, varying number of rescue Dobes and 2 humans. When Willow developed a limp and seemed to being experiencing pain she immediately went to the vet and got a full exam including an MRI. Willow was diagnosed with instability and compression between several vertebrae which required a dorsal laminectomy. This was surgically repaired and Willow is making excellent progress. However, Willow must now go through several months of rehabilitation therapy including hydro-therapy and acupuncture treatments. While the Veterans Administration covered the costs of the exams, labs, MRI and meds, Chuck and his insurance company split the $5,500 for the operation and rehab to date. Chuck has requested SND assistance to help with the costs of Willow’s future rehab treatments - she is his eyes to this world!!
