Tonto!

SND received a call on August 27, 2004 from Pat in Massachusetts regarding his six year old Dobe, Tonto. It seems that Tonto had a couple of days of bloody diarrhea. When checked out at the vet it was found that Tonto has dilated cardiomyopathy. This was probably aggravated by the intestinal irritation and he may even have a touch of Von Willebrand's Disease, a blood disorder, according to the vet. But the real issue is the cardio. The vet gave Tonto six months -- but of course that could be three months or 18 months. They have run him through all the tests and with the necessary medications, he has a bill of over $800. The vet who has been seeing Tonto since he was a pup told me he would give SND a 50% discount so we're looking at approx $425 at this time.

Pat has just incurred some major "people" medical bills and is not in a position today to handle his boy's bill. He will be rounding up family and friends to send in donations to help Tonto. We are asking for your help with this wonderful boy's care, he still has some meaningful life to spend with his loving dad. If you would like to help Tonto with a tax-deductible donation, you can mail it to us or use the PayPal button below if you would like to send it online. We appreciate anything you can do!
