Sara!
|
Sara is a beautiful 4 month old Doberpup owned by Nichole Payne and her 2 children, in Brampton, Canada. She was referred to SND by Mary Korevaar. Soon after Nichole adopted Sara, she noticed that she was having trouble with her eye. She tried to contact the breeder, but her phone calls were never returned. Nichole took Sara to the vet, and she was diagnosed as having glaucoma in her eye! The vet says this was caused by a reaction to the hepatitis shot administered by the breeder! She has already lost her sight in that eye, and the pressure of the glaucoma is causing her pain. The vet is very fond of Sara, and is quite upset that the breeder would cause this to happen to a poor little puppy! The vet has recommended surgery to remove the eye, and referred Sara to a specialist. The costs for her treatment include an exam fee of $200 plus $1200 for her surgery. Nichole, a single mother, was recently laid off from her job, and is having trouble meeting basic expenses. She and her kids love Sara, and they do not want her to be in pain, but they have little money to pay for her treatment. They will, however, do what they can to assist with fundraising, and can make an initial contribution to help get the case started. SND is working jointly with IMOM to raise funds for Sara's surgery. Please consider making a donation to enable us to help Sara. She is a sweet, young Doberman and deserves every chance to live a long, happy, pain-free life. |

5/26 - Update from Nichole:
"I just wanted to let you all know that Sara finally had her surgery and she is
doing great. I really can't thank you enough for all you have done for Sara
and thank you so much for your kind donations. Sara has to go back in a week
to have her stiches removed where she had her eye removed and guess what! The
first estimate I got for the surgery was $1200. A friend of mine refered me to
her vet and he did it for under $500! Can you believe that! I promise to keep
you posted to how she does. Once again I can't thank you enough for
everything. You guys are doing a great job keep up the great work.
lots of friendly hugs,
nicole and sara"
