Updates!
July 5, 2003 - The latest on Ruby!
|
Ruby is a beautiful 7.5 week old red Doberman puppy. As rambunctious puppies
will do, she injured her leg over Memorial Day weekend. The only veterinary
services available were those of the emergency clinic, which Jenny, Ruby's
owner, could not afford. She made a desperate call to SND for assistance.
SND was happy to be able to help Ruby. Here's her story as told my her
mom, Jenny: "Ruby the redheaded Doberpup is doing very well. She was
seen at the emergency center 5/25. They x-rayed her leg and put a bandage
on it. Ruby saw her regular Veterinarian on Tuesday and had a real
splint placed on her leg. Her toes were very swollen- probably because
her bandage was too tight and had no splint in it.The x-rays are very
dark - kinda sad that an emergency hospital couldn't produce a better
x-ray. Dr Greenwalt doesn't think a plaster cast is a good idea since
Ruby would quickly outgrow it-she'll even need a bigger splint next
bandage change. So now we try to keep her quiet(yeah sure!) and wait
for her bone to heal. Thanks to everyone who helped us! ~Jenny and Ruby the Dobershark
