Meet Redi... Miss RediWhip!!
My name is Redi...
But that white streak does look like whipped cream... so my nickname is RediWhip!
This angelic face belongs to RediWhip, a beautiful, sweet girl who was surrendered
to Doberman Rescue of the Triad and the incomparable Carol Fama along with her
siblings. Redi comes from a line of lovely and healthy Dobermans, a few of whom
DRT has placed in wonderful forever homes. When Carol saw Miss Redi's white
streak, she started calling her RediWhip - for obvious reasons... :)! Miss Redi's
parents can be seen on DRT's site. Sadly, Redi's owner is struggling with terminal
cancer and was unable to care for Redi and her siblings. When Redi was taken
into DRT, she was making a poor recovery from a recent spay. Now Carol has observed
that Redi has a curious gait and and some of her movements are causing pain.
After persistent investigation and an MRI, Redi has been diagnosed with an ventrally
ruptured disc, C6-C7, and only surgery will free this dear baby from pain. Redi,
however, does have an excellent prognosis -- the success rate for Redi's needed
surgery is 90% and Redi is likely to recover fully and have the life of love
and attention that she so deserves.
Even though Redi is facing this huge and expensive surgery, she is extremely
affectionate and loving and will position herself -- even in terrible pain --
to anyone offering a pat or a kind word. She is the kind of Dobe that embeds
herself directly in one's heart, impossible to resist. She is also very, very
fortunate to have landed in Carol's arms. All of us are aware of the stellar
work of Doberman Rescue of the Triad and the efforts of Carol -- who has devoted
her life to saving Dobermans like Redi... Dobes like Cotton, Boomer and Blue
Belle, all of whom had life threatening problems that would not have been resolved
without Carol. Carol is the consummate Doberman advocate and angel and she and
RediWhip need our help raising funds for Redi's surgery.
