In Memory of Pixie

We are very sad to report that our Pixie has passed away. She was the first Doberman rescued from The Senior Doberman Project. Her mom, SND member Sheilla Dingus, found her listing there and drove a very long distance to get this girl out of a shelter before her time there ran out. Sadly, the cancer Pixie was fighting proved to be just too much. The most important thing to remember though is that she was loved very much when it was time for her to leave. She didn't pass away sad and lonely in a shelter, no family to comfort her. SND thanks Sheilla for taking care of her from the bottom of our hearts.
We would like this page to be a rememberence of her life and not a page of mourning. There are two stories below for you to enjoy. The first is a letter 'written' by Pixie herself detailing how her new mom came to the shelter where she had been for two months and took Pixie to her new home. The second is a touching rememberance of Pixie's life as told by Sheilla. By reading them, you will get to know this Dobe like we did. We are very sad she is gone but very happy she was so loved.
SND is still working to reduce the size of the very large medical bill which we incurred while helping Pixie. While we will still be able to help the new Dobes that come to us needing assistance, this is still a drain on SND's resources. Many people have asked how to make a donation in memory of Pixie. You can send a contribution to the Pixie Fund by using the PayPal button at the bottom of this page, or by mailing in a donation.
