Bria
July, 2004
Cindy
rescued Bria, a 6 month old female Doberman off the streets of Watts, CA.
She is very sweet and affectionate. She is small for her age which the
vet says is due to malnutrition. Bria was initially seen by Dr. Omoto of
Village Pet Clinic in Redondo Beach - the exam revealed that Bria has a
broken hip -- probably hit by a car at some point in the past. Then she
was seen by Dr. Schlanger of Brentair Animal Hospital and finally by Dr.
Leeds (an orthopedic surgeon). Dr. Leeds says that the window of opportunity
for surgery has long closed. She will need specialized nutrition, supplements,
and 10 sessions of hydrotherapy to strengthen her hip - at $45 - $65 per
session. Please visit Bria's page to read more
about this sweet Dobe!

Scooby
July, 2004
Scooby
is a lovable young red Doberman. He lived the first year or so of his life
in a junkyard, and then escaped that life to roam the streets of Staten
Island for months! Finally, he found his forever home with Joanne in NJ.
Scooby has developed a massive lick granuloma on his left rear leg. It
had gotten so bad that there was a loss of circulation at times, infections,
and amputation appeared imminent. Joanna learned of an alternate laser
treatment that has shown great success in cases similar to Scooby's. She
sprang for the first treatment at $880, but he will need seven follow-ups
at around $100 each, and her funds are exhausted. You can learn more on Scooby's
Page.

Ben
August, 2004
Ben
is a wonderful seven year senior male Dobe who has had a very sad, neglected
life up to now. He was rescued by the great people at Doberman
Rescue of North Carolina. This fawn boy had been living outside in
a 6' square, concrete floored pen. He came to DRNC very malnourished and
in bad shape. The worst of his problems is a very severe heartworm infestation.
Treatment is going to be very tricky and even though he is now in the most
loving hands you could ask for, he is not out of danger by any means. You
can read more about this senior boy in need on Ben's
Page!

Moose
August, 2004
Moose
is a 2-3 year black and tan neutered male Doberman in the care of Doberman
Rescue Group of Oklahoma. This goofy cross-eyed boy is in a foster
home that he shares with cats and dogs (of varying breeds and sexes). He
gets along with all of his foster siblings. Please help Kira by making
a tax-deductible donation. One morning Moose was let outside while his
foster mom got ready for work. When she went to let him in 10 minutes later,
Moose did not come when called. To her horror, Moose was in the neighbor's
yard and his leg was being chewed off by an intact Pit Bull. It is believed
that Moose stood up at the fence and was dragged into the yard by his arm,
based on the appearance of the fence and Moose's gentle demeanor. After
the dogs were separated Moose was rushed to the vet and his leg had to
be amputated. He also had to be stitched up from multiple lacerations.

Lola
September, 2004
Atlanta
Pet Rescue took in a 4-5 year old red female Dobe named Lola from
the Cherokee Animal Control. She was under-nourished and heartworm positive.
They will have her spayed and vaccinated after she's completed her heartworm
treatments. Their vet is willing to do the treatments for $130.
Atlanta Pet Rescue is a small organization and their vet bills are
pilling up so they asked SND for assistance. We made a one-time payment
for Lola's
treatment
- the poor girl needed a helping hand. Atlanta Pet Rescue will find
a good home for Lola when she is healthy.
Remember, as the song says... "Whatever Lola
wants, Lola gets."
