List Of SNDobes Helped

Dobes helped from April - June, 2005

Thanks for taking a moment to read about some of the Doberman lives SND has been fortunate enough to help. The links below will take you to the pages that contain pictures and stories about our SNDobes. The stories have been split up into separate pages to make them easy to download (that's good, it means we have helped lots of Dobes!). Please remember to read our Currently In Need page for Dobes that need help now (there are Dobes there that will come to this list when we're done helping them).

Holly
April, 2005

Holly is a 7 year old red Dobe living in New York with Susan. Holly has a rapidly growing tumor on her gums and her owner, Susan, could not afford the surgery to have it removed. Since the tumor was rapidly increasing in size the vet recommended immediate removal. Susan works at the vet clinic so she gets a discount. With this and the help rendered by SND, Holly was able to have the surgery that she needed.

Daisy
April, 2005

Daisy was a beautiful 10 year old Doberman living in North Carolina with Michael and Nichole. She had been Michael's baby since she was a tiny pup. Recently Daisy was diagnosed with Wobbler's and her family has elected to try acupuncture and possibly gold bead implants to help her regain her mobility. Sadly, Daisy became almost immobile on April 11 and passed away on April 12. You can learn more and see some pictures by visiting Daisy's Page. Please consider making a tax deductible donation in memory of Daisy. Your donation can be mailed in, or you can use the PayPal button below to donate online.

Phelanie
May, 2005

Phelanie (pronounced "Felony") is a beautiful 4 year old girl with Addison's Disease. Her family has spent a great deal of money for diagnostics and monthly medications and have reached the end of their financial rope. Recently Phelanie's vet noticed a possible heart murmur on a recent visit. Tests are needed but Phelanie's owners are unable to cover these additional costs. You can learn more by visiting Phelanie's Page!

Kayla
May, 2005

Kayla is a gorgeous 10 year old Doberman living with her family in Pennsylvania. Recently, Kayla was attacked by a dog that her family is fostering and was badly injured. The family does not have the resources to pay for the intensive care that Kayla needs, as her "Dad" recently had surgery, himself, and since he does not have insurance, is having to foot the cost out of pocket. Additionally, as a contractor, he has temporarily lost his source of income until he is able to work again. You can see some pictures of Kayla, and learn more by visiting Kayla's Page.

Pounder
May, 2005

SND first met Pounder, a senior male Dobe, in March when he needed help with diagnostics, which eventually revealed a missing disk in his spine! He is responding well to acupuncture, but his owner is out of money and now Pounder needs your help! You can learn more by visiting Pounder's Page.

May, 2005

Angel
May, 2005

Angel was a precious 10 1/2 year old living with Dorothy in Arizona. Recently, she stopped urinating and although several tests had been run, they were inconclusive. SND provided assistance with the tests and treatments that Angel needed, but sadly, her life could not be saved. While the UTI had cleared up she was still continually bleeding excessively to the point of anemia. When it became evident that it was the presence of a tumor combined with the vWd that was creating the problem Dorothy and the vet agreed that there was no solution. They agreed that Angel's quality of life had deteriorated and that she should be released. You can learn more and see some pictures by visiting Angel's Page. Please consider making a tax deductible donation in memory of Angel. Your donation can be mailed in, or you can use the PayPal button below to donate online.

Jagger
May, 2005

Jagger was a 3 year old Doberman living in Connecticut that had been diagnosed with the onset of Dilated Cardiomyopathy. His owner had thus far spent $2300 in tests and meds and did not have the money to continue the testing and treatment that he required when she contacted SND. Sadly Jagger did not make it, but at least it was not for lack of medicine and veterinary care. You can learn more and see some pictures by visiting Jagger's Page. Please consider making a tax deductible donation in memory of Jagger. Your donation can be mailed in, or you can use the PayPal button below to donate online.

Ivan
May, 2005

Ivan was a precious 1 year old red boy in a Georgia shelter. He was scheduled to go to Recycled Dobermans Rescue in Pennsylvania, but hours before his scheduled pick up the Atlanta volunteers got a call that he had been attacked and severely injured by other dogs in his run. He was immediately rushed to a vet where his wounds were treated and he was placed on IV's and antibiotics. Sadly, Ivan had lost a great deal of blood and his body temperature had plummeted to 91 degrees. It was just too much to overcome and he did not make it. You can learn more and see some pictures by visiting Ivan's Page. Please consider making a tax deductible donation in memory of Ivan. Your donation can be mailed in, or you can use the PayPal button below to donate online.

Storm
May, 2005

Storm is a 1 1/2 yr old female belonging to Kim and Derrick in Iowa. Storm had a partially torn ACL that she went in for surgery for on 3/31. A.J.
June, 2005

AJ is a seven year old black neutered male with natural ears and a docked tail living with Jean in New York. He has one growth and two lumps that need removing; the large growth is in his groin area and the two lumps are on his left rear leg. Jean just recently underwent successful surgery to remove a cancerous growth from her tongue (ouch!). This will keep her out of work for several weeks and she required help with A.J.'s surgery. For more info, please visit A.J.'s Page.

Sabre
June, 2005

Christine has been hammered with rescue bills and received assistance from SND. For more info, please visit Sabre's Page.

Samantha
June, 2005

Samantha is an adorable 7 - 8 month old female in the care of Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue. Shortly after she was pulled from the shelter her foster mom noticed that she had a nasty discharge. It turned out that she had a bad shelter spay and the stump of her uterus was still in place and had become infected. Samantha required surgery to re-spay and clear up the infection. For more info, please visit Samantha's Page.

Guinness
June, 2005

Guinness was picked up on 5/29 from a vet and admitted into Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue's program. The staff at that vet’s office said he was dumped there to be euthanized. They said he had a problem with one of his legs, but that proper nutrition and exercise would help correct it. Once he could be observed by GCDR, it was obvious that this was not a minor problem at all – he had a prior injury or deformity that bent his leg outwards significantly. The turn in the leg has increased noticeably over the past two weeks, and GCDR would like to get Guinness in to see an orthopedic specialist as soon as possible You can learn more by visiting Guinness' Page!
