List Of SNDobes Helped

Dobes helped from April - June, 2004

Thanks for taking a moment to read about some of the Doberman lives SND has been fortunate enough to help. The links below will take you to the pages that contain pictures and stories about our SNDobes. The stories have been split up into separate pages to make them easy to download (that's good, it means we have helped lots of Dobes!). Please remember to read our Currently In Need page for Dobes that need help now (there are Dobes there that will come to this list when we're done helping them).

Vince
May, 2004

Vince is an adorable 8 month old Doberman puppy who's life got off to a rough start. He began his life in a puppy mill and wound up at a pet store at 6 weeks of age, and stayed there until he was 4 months old! He lived with his first owner for 4 months until he jumped out of the car window and injured his leg. The owner turned him into rescue because she did not want to pay the vet bill, and now he is with Brenda Borelli of Las Vegas Doberman Pinscher and Doxie Rescue. Brenda took him to several vets for a diagnosis (the original x-rays were inconclusive), and it was finally determined that he will need a femoral head osteoectomy. You can read more about this sweet boy on Vince's Page!

Maya
May, 2004

Maya is a sweet little Dobergirl approximately 3 years old. She was found as a stray in Maryland and brought to the local shelter where Doberman Assistance, Rescue & Education (DARE) was contacted and she was placed in a foster home. In addition to coming in heartworm positive and requiring treatment for that, after about 3 weeks she developed Pyometra, which is a potentially life-threatening uterine infection. With her heart weakened by the heartworms, dehydration, and the infection spreading through her system, there was concern as to her ability to even withstand the surgery. Surgery took several hours and she spent the next two days and nights in intensive care. You can read her full story on Maya's Page.

Flower
May, 2004

Doberman Assistance, Rescue & Education (DAR&E) got a call from South Paws Referral Center. A young guy had brought in a 6 month old female Dobe because she'd been vomiting and x-rays at his vet's showed a foreign object lodged in her intestines. The vet convinced the owner to turn M.J. over to rescue, and at first it appeared the blockage would resolve itself on it's own. Unfortunately this was not the case, and poor little M.J. had a series of surgeries, and came very close to losing her battle! She has since been renamed Flower by her foster parents. You can read her full story on Flower's Page.

Beauty
June, 2004

Beauty is a sweet 4 year old Dobergirl in the care of the Fort Worth Humane Society in Texas. Beauty showed up with a withered foot, probably a congenital deformity. At any rate, she needs amputation to help her to have better mobility. The surgery will run between $1000 and $1200, and Beauty needs your help. Once she has recovered from her surgery, she will be available for adoption. You can learn more on on Beauty's Page.

Penny
June, 2004

SND first came to know Penny when she was an abuse case that we assisted with. At that time, she was known as Chayane. With the love and help of Dale Maddox-Geddis in NC, she has come a long way toward healing from her injuries. Because of the low bone density caused from poor nutrition in her former life, she is still incurring vet bills. You can learn more on Penny's Page.

Auslese
June, 2004

Auslese is a beautiful young Dobergirl, who lives in Alaska with her new mom, SSgt. Karen Foster. Auslese was abused and had numerous medical issues that had to be addressed. Karen has spent a small fortune on her little Dobergirl, and has taken care of an infected uterus and intestinal blockage among other things, and is at the end of her financial means. Auslese still required surgery to repair an old injury to her leg. Without which, the leg would have to be amputated. SND is happy that we were able to help to save Auslese's leg. You can read more about Auslese on Auslese's Page.

Ashley
June, 2004

Ashley is a lovely blue Doberpup, living in Illinois with her loving family. Ashley had escaped her yard and was hit by a car. She was very badly injured, suffering internal bleeding in her lungs, a dislocated hip, and two very badly injured legs. The vet says that she is very lucky to be alive! Ashley's medical care has proven to be very expensive, and her family has reached the end of their financial resources. You can read more about Ashley as well as seeing several pictures by visiting Ashley's Page.

Cheeko
June, 2004

Cheeko is a big loving 3 year old male Doberman, owned by Judi Rothenberg in Ohio. He was diagnosed with a torn ACL by his regular vet, and sent to the specialists at Ohio State University Vet School for further diagnostics and surgery. He required a very costly TPLO surgery because of other related orthopedic problems. Please read his full story on Cheeko's Page.

Austin
June, 2004

It is with very heavy hearts that we must report that Austin has gone to The Bridge. Austin was a wonderful blue boy in the care of Doberman Assistance, Rescue & Education (DAR&E). Just prior to coming into rescue, he was treated for severe lacerations to his leg, and upon coming to rescue, treated for other lesser problems. Just as he was starting to settle in, Austin bloated, requiring THREE surgeries to save his life. Unfortunately, his intestines started hemorrhaging for some unknown reason. He passed away during the weekend of May 22nd. You can learn more about him on Austin's Page.

Maddy!
June, 2004

Maddy was a sweet and beautiful 8 year old female Doberman, owned and loved for her whole life by Janet Joslin, of California. Maddy had lived with inflammatory bowel disease for 3 years when Janet contacted SND. Maddy had started to decline, and needed assistance with diagnostics and special food for Maddy. Sadly the diagnostics were not positive, and it was learned that Maddy's body was starting to shut down. She was released from her suffering on Saturday, June 12. You can read her full story and see her memorial on Maddy's Page.
