Serena
January, 2006
Serena
is a 7 year old rescue dobe who was adopted by Julie in Florida almost
3 years ago. Serena has been diagnosed with Para-Thyroid disease, a pre-cancerous
condition that will progress to cancer if not treated in the near future.
With timely surgery (removal of the thyroid gland) the prognosis is good.
Julie was recently divorced and her financial situation is not good. SND
and it members are glad that we were able to help this adorable girl!

Colby
February, 2006
Colby
is a 6 year old fawn boy in the care of the good folks at Doberman
Assistance, Rescue and Education (DAR&E). He was found wondering
in a public park in Newport News, VA. He was taken to an animal shelter
and, at that time, DAR&E was called to rescue him. Colby was emaciated.
Every bone of his skeleton protruded on his body and he could barely stand
when DARE got him. Colby was taken to a local veterinarian by a DARE volunteer.
His skin was crawling with fleas and ticks, and his intestines were filled
with whipworms and roundworms. To make matters worse, He tested positive
for heartworms. Colby was a very sick Dober Boy. His rehabilitation will
take span months, but he is picking up weight and doing much better, however
he is wracking up some very high medical bills along the way. You can learn
more about this sweet boy by visiting Colby's Page!

Bleu
Boy
February, 2006
Sir
Bleu Boy McLeish is a 7 year old blue male (as you can tell by his name)
living in Colorado with Ken and Kathy. Bleu has had a number of problems
over the last 2 1/2 years seizures, dry distemper, aspiration pneumonia
and now possible neurological myopathy. He is unable to remain standing
as his rear legs give out. The McLeishes have spent approx $11,000 dealing
with Bleu's medical issues over the last couple of years and are now looking
for some assistance for the "next phase." They are going to try acupuncture
and check into gold beads (depending on reaction to acupuncture and the
advice of Dr. Durkes). You can learn more by visiting Bleu

Gordy
March, 2006
Gordy
is a three year old boy in the care of the kind folks at Doberman
Assistance, Rescue and Education (DAR&E). He was turned in by owners
who kept him outside (and teased by kids) because they thought he wouldn't
be good with their new twins. Seem fair to you? A limp that was misdiagnosed
by his first vet turned out to be a torn ACL. He experienced a lot of complications
after that procedure, then... his other knee went out! Gordy had surgery
for that ligament, and is now on the mend. You can learn more about this
sweet boy by visiting Gordy's Page!

that SND could step in to help this girl - she still has lots of happiness
and love to share with them! You can learn more about this girl by visiting Sabrina's
