List Of SNDobes Helped

Dobes helped from January - March, 2004

Thanks for taking a moment to read about some of the Doberman lives SND has been fortunate enough to help. The links below will take you to the pages that contain pictures and stories about our SNDobes. The stories have been split up into separate pages to make them easy to download (that's good, it means we have helped lots of Dobes!). Please remember to read our Currently In Need page for Dobes that need help now (there are Dobes there that will come to this list when we're done helping them).

Lilian!
March, 2004

Lilian Marie was a senior Dobe owned and loved by Doris Ray of Columbia, SC. Lilian had seen a hard life until she had the good fortune to meet Doris. She was in bad shape when Doris found her, but Doris lovingly nursed her back to health. Unfortunately, Doris soon learned that Lili was in kidney failure, but with great care, she continued to flourish in her new home. After several months had passed, Lilian's kidney problems worsened, and she had to have medication and IV's that SND was happy to help with. Sadly, after a brief rally, Lilian again took a turn for the worse and Doris made the hard decision to release her with dignity. You can learn more about her on Lilian's Page.

Baker Street!
March, 2004

Baker Street was a beautiful 13 year old female Doberman, who lived in Nashville, TN, with her owner, Cheryl Mc Gee. When SND met Baker, she was thought to be in the early stages of congestive heart failure, and Cheryl could not afford additional diagnostics to insure that Baker received proper medical attention. SND was happy to be of assistance, but sadly, the diagnostics revealed cancer, and Baker lost her battle very quickly. Our deepest condolences go to Cheryl, along with our thanks for the love she showed to Baker throughout her whole life. You can read more about her on Baker Street's Page.

Eeyore!
March, 2004

Eeyore was a two year old Doberman in the foster care of Kathleen Prince in FL when we first met her. Poor Eeyore has had a hard life, having been estimated to have been bred 4 times in her two short years. When she was rescued, she was actually delivering a litter of pups, while also suffering from Demodectic Mange, ear infections, eye infections, and a broken toe. Even pregnant, she was over 20 lbs. underweight. You can read more about her on Eeyore's Page.

Logan!
March, 2004

Logan was a pretty 3 year old Dobergirl in Marietta, GA. Recently she was rushed to the vet for emergency obstruction surgery. She had swallowed a sock. Logan's vital signs began to plummet, and she required critical care from her regular vet and also the emergency clinic. Sadly, she did not recover, and went to the Bridge on February 20. You can read her full story on Logan's Page. This pretty girl will be missed by many. You may use the PayPal button below if you would like to make a donation to SND in Logan's memory.

Hamlet!
March, 2004

Hamlet was a 6 week old red male in the care of Doberman Rescue of Colorado when SND first met him. He had a broken leg probably caused when mama accidentally stepped on him when he was much younger. An initial evaluation showed that he had a broken tibia fracture that had become distracted (separated) and twisted. This was considered even more serious since so much time had passed. The vet speculated that the leg would have to be wired but that would be determined once they actually opened the leg. Given Hamlet's age they expected him to heal quickly and be totally recovered 3 -4 weeks after the surgery. You can read the full story on Hamlet's Page.

Duke!
March, 2004

Duke is a sweet and loving black and rust male in the care of CASA, a rescue group in Marietta, GA. He was 4 years old and had just come into rescue the day before Thanksgiving when we learned of him - but his woes were far from over. When he was liberated, he was very lethargic, running a high fever, and had great difficulty in walking. Duke has been treated with antibiotics and his fever is gone. His appetite has returned, and he is stronger, but is still lame. Duke needs your help to continue testing and seeking the cause of his lameness. Please read his full story on Duke's Page.

Titan!
March, 2004

Titan was a 3 year old black male from Pennsylvania when he came to us. He was hit by a car when he and a neighbor's Pit Bull escaped from their yards. The Pit was killed and Titan suffered a broken leg. Titan's owner, Mr. Steele, is retired and has a very limited income. Your help is needed to see that Titan receives the surgery that he needs, and can return to being a happy and spoiled Doberman. You can learn more about Titan on Titan's Page.

Honey!
March, 2004

Honey was a sweetheart of a senior! When we first came to know her, she was a 9 - 10 year old red girl, and in the care of Doberman Rescue of Colorado. Honey came to Rescue after being on long term doses of predisone and with untreated hypothyroidism. She came off the pred and received medication for thyroid problems -- she regained her body tone and lost at least 10 lbs. of excess weight. Unfortunately, she was also diagnosed with severe skin allergies. SND was happy to provide the serum injections that Honey needed to fend off her allergies. Honey's story is one with lots of twists and turns, but eventually, Honey was adopted by a wonderful couple, Kristi and Troy. She lived several happy months with them before succoming to lung cancer on May 22. You can read the rest of her story on Honey's Page. You can use the PayPal button below if you would like to make a donation in Honey's memory.

Joni!
March, 2004

Joni is an adorable and petite 4 year old, Dobergirl in foster care with Doris Ray in Columbia, SC. Joni was hit by a car and had a broken leg, along with some other lesser health problems. Her owners turned her into a shelter because they did not want to pay for additional medical care for her. The leg had been pinned, but because the femur was broken in several pieces, the pins did no good. Joni needed surgery to correct the damage to and save her leg. You can learn more about her and see more pictures on Joni's Page.

Thunder!
February, 2004

Poor little Thunder was a 6 month old Dobe pup, who was rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri. He was immediately taken to a vet upon being rescued, in attempt to his life! He was emaciated (weighing only 21 pounds), had stunted growth, was dehydrated and had bite wounds and cuts on his body. His penis was completely out of the shaft and very swollen. He was scheduled to go to Doberman Rescue Group Oklahoma, when he was stable, but that day never came. You can read his sad story on Thunder's Page. You may use the PayPal button below if you would like to make a donation to SND in Thunder's memory.

Angel Wings!
February, 2004

Angel was a beautiful red Doberman in the care of Doris Ray, in Columbia, SC. She has been diagnosed with Wobbler's Disease, and was showing signs of obvious pain. After being examined, it was determined that the Wobbler's was too advanced, and that surgery would only prolong her suffering. It was decided that she should be released with dignity. You can read her full story on Angel's Page. You may use the PayPal button below if you would like to make a donation to SND in Angel's memory.

Catherine!
January, 2004

Catherine was a 10 - 12 year old female Doberman in the care of Doberman Rescue of Colorado. She was recently pulled from the Denver shelter where she spent a week waiting for her family to claim her. No one came, so Chuck Vaile took her into his program. When he arrived at the shelter, Catherine had a fever of 105 degrees, and was suffering a severe infection due to bad teeth! After several days of trying in vain to strengthen her for surgery, it was decided that she should be released with dignity. You can read her full story on Catherine's Page. Doby!
January, 2004

Doby is a very sweet 5 - 6 year old male Doberman. SND was contacted by Doby's former owner, requesting help for wounds the boy suffered in a dog attack when he escaped his owner's yard. His SND case worker learned that this was the 3rd time that the vet had treated him for severe bite wounds, and that he had nearly died, this time from the wounds and resulting infection. He is also heartworm positive. We also learned that Doby's owner was in a very bad situation herself, and it was agreed that Doby should go to rescue with CASA, in GA. Please read his full story on Doby's Page.

Kiowa!
January, 2004

Kiowa is a beautiful 9 year old female Doberman, owned and loved by SND member, Linda Tuttle. She was recently diagnosed with Wobblers, and because of her age, a holistic approach has been decided upon for her treatment. Kiowa will need a series of acupuncture treatments in order to regain her mobility and control the pain associated with Wobblers. You can read her full story on Kiowa's Page.

Chayane!
January, 2004

Chayane is a sweet young one year old Doberman with a terrifying story of torture and abuse to tell. She was abducted from her home and severely tortured.
