We are proud to introduce you to Oden, a marvelous six year old boy who needs our help. As you can tell from the photos, he is a vibrant and handsome show Doberman. Unfortunately, Oden has been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia with lymphoblast crisis and thrombocytopenia. His attending veterinarian believes that his condition is treatable, but it will be expensive. Oden lives with his mom, Judy, in San Antonio, Texas. Judy is retired and on a limited income. She loves her boy very much and wants to do everything she can to save him. The doctors think Oden has a good chance for remission, we just need to help out with the cost of the treatments.

Two of Judy's friends, Margo and JoAnn, sent in a great description of Oden and his mom:

"His mother died giving birth and he was raised on a bottle by Judy. He is the sweetest dog I have ever known. I hope people will open their hearts and help us keep him in treatments. His mom, Judy, has been with the San Antonio Doberman rescue for 10 years she has found many homes and spent a lot of her own money and time helping find homes for countless Dobermans. Now it is our turn to help her and Oden.

He walks up to any and all for petting – he knows no strangers. Children who stand eye to eye with him are enraptured with his gentleness. He loves to share your couch or your Chinese take-out.

Soul mates, Judy has been dedicated to her dogs, they are her family and they make a team. The vet’s diagnosis is devastating. Oden finished his championship at 19 months. He started training in agility at 3 years old and earned numerous agility titles. He is also Delta certified and totally people oriented.

What’s really important are his relationships with the people who know him. He’s one of those great guys who’s always reaching out with his eyes, making contact, nudging with his nose, sitting on your feet to ensure you keep petting him or doing the 'Doberman lean.' "

Obviously Oden is a MUCH loved Dobe! Judy is a special lady and we're asking folks to help us keep these two together for a long time to come.
