Lilian

Lilian is a senior Doberman, owned by Doris Ray, a rescuer in Columbia, SC. Lilian has been in kidney failure for some time now, but with the good care that she has received, she has been living a happy, normal life.

Doris contacted us on March 4, stating, "Lilian's kidney levels are a lot worse. Her BUN and CREA are way up. She stopped eating a few days ago, which made me repeat her bloodwork. The last bloodwork in November was actually improved from before, but now she has taken a turn for the worse." Lilian needed IV's to bring her BUN and CREA levels back down and give her a chance for survival. Doris has been bombarded with vet bills, lately, including heartworm treatment for a new foster, and now she does not have the funds to provide Lilian with the IV's that she needs.

The vet feels that by providing the IV's there is a good chance we can bring Lilians protein levels back down, and give her several months of quality life. Doris says that Lilian is so happy since she brought in two new fosters, a min-pin and a dachshund - she mothers them and thinks they're her pups. SND is happy to help, and we hope that Lilian will have much quality time left with the family that she loves.
