Meet Levi -- cute, sweet, and with a set of ears that you KNOW feel like velvet! This guy has a sad Tail, but we know he'll have a happy ending! Levi was brought to a shelter with a fracture of his femur. He was surrendered as a "stray." Was he? Who knows. Some people dump their dogs at a shelter and pretend they "found" the dog to avoid paying a surrender fee. Being a stray means the dog remains at the shelter for a certain amount of time, sometimes as much as 7-10 working days. Local shelters do not usually have x-ray equipment, and this was true in Levi's case. The shelter vet fitted Levi with a cast. After his hold period was up, Doberman Angel Ardis Braun of Dobies and Little Paws Rescue found Levi a foster home, and took him immediately to a Pet Clinic, where his leg was x-rayed and re-cast.
Ardis wanted her favorite vet to have a look at Levi, and we're glad she did. It was determined that Levi's cast was not fitted correctly, so Mr. Levi was once again x-rayed and then the recast he needed happened! While his leg is healing, Levi will be re-checked every week, and in a month or so, Levi will find out if he will be able to keep his leg. This young gent is a "Work in Progress," and we all hope Levi will remain a 4-legger!
In the meantime, the Rescue organization has a hefty bill from two vets! Times are hard for everyone, and Rescue organizations are more full now than ever before. The angels at Levi's rescue came through once again, and once again they need our assistance. You can help by making a tax deductible donation in Levi's name by clicking on the PayPal button below. Or, a donation can be sent by mail. No amount is ever too small! Every penny you donate will go directly towards helping the Dobe-in-Need, sweetie Mr. Levi in this case! Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful Dobies.
