Hart!

Hart is a gorgeous 8 year old black male Doberman who has had an incredibly hard year. This sweet-faced Dober boy was found wandering the streets in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Hart was picked up by the ASPCA and taken to the Lamar-Dixon shelter in Baton Rouge then released to the Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue organization. He was under weight at the time and was being very strong despite his predicament. Hart was fostered for a few months and then adopted by his new Mom. Now he has four rescue doggie siblings, 2 rescue cats step-siblings, and a number of fish to watch. In March and April, Hart had two episodes of severe bloat from torsion; the second time resulting in emergency surgery to reposition his stomach. His mom is a retired nun and now teaches. She loves Hart and had to max out her credit card to save his life.

Hart is now in recovery with bills exceeding $3000. SND needs your help to assist Hart’s mom with paying for his treatment! This wonderful boy still has lots of love to give and get, lets help get him back to being a happy, healthy boy!
