Meet Flint!

Our Man Flint!! On The Road To Wellville!!

Meet Flint! His family abandoned him, but dobe-lover Jan pulled him from animal control to take him directly to her vet. He had a severe infection in his mouth, his teeth were packed with feces and hair. He also had some nasty diarrhea. The next day Flint lost 20 teeth and his manhood. Poor boy got it coming and going, didn't he? Jan took him home with her to heal. The holes in his mouth were huge and bleeding. He was even bleeding from the nostrils from the upper extractions. A week later his mouth was much better but the diarrhea wasn't. By now Jan was sure it was a long-term, if not lifelong, condition. He was nervous in the house, never wanting to be far from the door, bless his heart. He also worked at keeping himself clean, which certainly explained the strange state of his mouth. Next his eyes turned red and his skin purple as he reacted to the antibiotic. Back to the vet for a new antibiotic and some prednisone, and home again. Then came pacing, aching and a temperature of 104. Poor Flint wound up in emergency care for 24 hours, as the infection had spread to other organs, including his heart, causing a murmur. Today, thankfully, Flint is doing well. His problems are gone, including the heart murmur, and thanks to Jan he is getting ready to look for his forever home. He's rapidly becoming a normal, sweet, truly velcro DobeGent deserving of a worthy home. Especially now that he doesn't have to hang around the door anymore!
