Duke of Troy
Duke (aka Duke of Troy to differentiate from last year's case) is an approximately 10 year old red male
adopted through Doberman Rescue of Colorado more than 7.5 years ago. Duke was diagnosed with a
heart murmur 2 years ago. Hypothyroidism and early stage DCM were diagnosed 3 months later.
On the morning of August 3, Duke was exhibiting classic signs of a cardiac incident with secondary
congestion. Following all the diagnostics it was determined that Duke's DCM had progressed much
quicker than expected. He will be going on ennalapril and lasix forthe duration of his life. The
diagnostics, emergency care, and significant monthly cost of the meds are beyond Troy's (Duke's owner)
current means.
