Meet Master Debo!!

Hey, HEY!! I am NOT Sleepy!!

Say what? Sure I can get up... give me a minute, please!!

Go Ahead, Make My Day!! Resist this!!

May 30, 2009 UPDATE!! This happy update is from one of Chuck's Angels:
"Hi Chuck, Debo was walking really well yesterday. He was placing his legs more or less straight and stepping on his pads. No dragging for over an hour! It makes up for the previous two days where he really had a hard time walking. He dragged his legs most of the time. My garden is bearing the scars of his activities. He goes through the flowerbeds anywhere he wants to. Some iris were quite beautiful this year until Debo walked through... They will bloom again next year. No harm done to the plant roots. However, what was really amazing was that he scratched his shoulder with his left back leg twice with a repeated rapid motion. Also he was able to raise himself to a sit several times. His back legs were bent properly once. The other times they were straight out in front of him. But his back was up straight. I hope we are making progress. I was so impressed with the scratching! I hope it was not an exception that he was able to do it. Mary Anne"

Baby Debo is having to grow up too fast. His owners wanted a doberman puppy to raise as part of the family but noticed their new baby was losing function in his hindquarters. When they took him to the vet and learned of the huge costs associated with diagnosis and possible treatment options they were faced with putting him to sleep or turning him over to someone who could get him the help he needed. A family member personally flew him from Washington to Colorado in a little travel bag and into the loving arms of Doberman Rescue of Colorado with a substantial donation to begin evaluation of this dearest little Angel who had stolen their hearts. Debo has now had x-rays indicate a defect or injury at the C6 vertebra and a neurologist has been consulted. The late breaking news is that Debo does indeed have a chance to live a wonderful long life. His potential needs include but may not be limited to an MRI or myelogram with the hopes of a possible surgical correction. Other treatments that could be helpful to restore some of his motor function are hydro-therapy, acupuncture or chiropractic treatment. Hydro-therapy treatment has already been started to prevent muscle atrophy.

These are huge costs for a rescue group in these tough economic times but anyone who meets this sweet baby agrees there is just something very special about him. Please help us help this great group of people from DRCO get little Debo the help he needs for treatment and diagnosis of his problem by using the Paypal button below or by mailing one in. No amount is too small to help this little thief of hearts!! Way to love a Dobe DRCO!!

Help Debo!
