Dakota

Dakota is a 4 year old male Doberman living in Mc Henry, IL, with his owner, Le Anne Schwantz and family,
which includes two young girls and a red rescue Dobe. He contracted Blastomycosis, a potentially deadly
fungal infection from the soil near his home. Blastomycosis spreads via the bloodstream or lymphatic
system from the lungs to involve the eyes, brain, bone, lymph nodes, urogenital system, skin, and
subcutaneous tissues. It has already cost Dakota his sight in one eye. The treatment for Blastomycosis
is long, complicated, and expensive. Itraconazole is the preferred treatment drug, with a success rate of
about 85%. Leanne has spent all of her available funds in diagnostics and for the first two month's
medication. At Walgreens, the initial meds were over $500! The meds have since been found at Road
Runner Pharmacy at a greatly reduced cost. Now Dakota needs your help to see that he receives the medication
that he needs to save his life, as well as veterinary care throughout the recovery process.
