Cara!

Cara is a very brave dobergirl and has endured immense abuse and neglect. She was rescued by Doberman Angel Judy, from a shelter in the western panhandle of Florida. Cara was extremely emaciated and according to her rescue mom, Cara smelled of death. Judy transported her immediately to her vet and it was discovered that Cara had two wooden sticks jammed in the upper palate of her mouth. One had been there long enough to permeate through the palate into her nasal cavity. The sticks were coated with debris and infection was evident. Any food she eats is immediately expelled through her nose. Judy and other volunteers have been making meatballs for her to swallow whole and Innova/Evo have donated some canned food to include in the meatballs in order for Cara to have more nutrients. Two vets have come together to assist Cara. Dr. Hale In Tallahasse and Dr. Peak in Largo are coordinating the two surgeries necessary to repair this extreme damage to Cara's upper soft palate. Dr. Hale will remove several teeth creating a graft area for a flap. The flap will then be used by Dr. Peak to cover the gaping fistulas in Cara's upper palate.

Under Judy's kind hands, Cara is gaining weight and is outwardly looking healthier. Now we just need to repair the internal damage and send a lot of prayers her way. Judy currently has eight Dobes in rescue that she is caring for and needs our financial help for Cara's surgeries. Please look into your hearts and help us show this lovely Dobergal that there are kind humans who care. As always, thank you for your generous donations.
