Angel!
This
adorable five year old girl has a torn ACL that needs corrective
surgery. She shares her Fort Worth, Texas home with her Mom and Dad,
and their 13 month old baby girl. Angel was the first child in this
family and her parents can't bear to see her in such pain. She is
unable to put weight on the leg, and it will not heal on it's own.
The estimate for the operation is between $950 and $1,300. We helped
make arrangements with the vet so that the bill can be paid in $200
monthly installments after a $500 initial payment. We will be teaming
with the family to raise the funds needed for her recovery. They
will be sending in items for auction including some sports memorabilia.
SND
is asking you for your help with Angel's recovery! Her surgery is
scheduled for the weekend of March 29th and we still need to come
up with $100 for the initial payment. Every donation is helpful,
no matter how small - five dollars is great if that's what you can
donate. You can use the PayPal button below,
or mail
us a donation directly. As always, thanks so much for
helping a Dobe! Please check back here as we will be posting
updates as we get them.

She is getting around and playing like her old self." Kim also expressed
thanks for the help that SND has provided for Angel, and wished all the other
Dobes the best.
May 15th, 2003 - New pics of Angel and her "baby"!
April 29th, 2003 - Angel is recovering!
Angel is doing fine. Her mom, Kim, says, "She is healing very fast and is
happier as each day goes by. She is wanting to be playful and she is not
supposed to do that so it is hard. It is so obvious that the surgery is like
night and day already in her attitude. You can see how she is feeling so much
better! We are so grateful that your organization was there to help. I will
forward a picture of her soon. By the way, it is looking like she is starting
to loose a couple pounds with her new diet dog food. This is not a bad
thing.. ha ha"
April 9th, 2003 - Angel has her surgery!
Here's the update from Angel's mom, Kim, "Well Angel had her surgery today and is
doing fine. I will be taking her home tomorrow. I took this picture (above, right) this weekend
before she went in & I thought it was a better picture than some I had sent. I
will keep you posted on how things go."
