Signed,
Limited Edition (#1 of 10) Leah Hartlep Doberman Print:
"The Four Colors"

We are very excited to present a special work of art: a signed and numbered print by Leah Hartlep entitled "The Four Colors." This is the FIRST print of a limited edition of ten - a collector's item for sure! "The Four Colors" is a wonderful depiction of a group of Dobermans romping in a field. The four beautiful Dobes are black, blue, red and fawn - just stunning! The print is based on a photo of three Dobes - the artist's red bitch and her two friends (Buck and Harley). Buck and Harley's owner has a large amount of acreage in a scenic part of Iowa and has been kind enough to allow a Doberman Playgroup to meet frequently on her property. The image of four beautiful Dobes playing together in a field will immediately warm any room it is displayed in! The visible portion of this print is 8 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" wide. It has been tastefully matted on a 1/4" thick piece of foam board. With the matte, it is 12" tall and 16" wide. We simply can't stop smiling at this gorgeous print!

This is no ordinary print mind you. The process used to create this piece of art definitely shows in the rich, vibrant colors. We asked the printer, Pupshine Gallery, to describe the process for us:
"Your prints were produced on Hahnemühle PhotoRag Fine Art paper with a weight of 308gsm. This paper is made by one of the oldest and most respected fine art paper producers in the world. They've been producing fine art papers for over 400 years since being founding in 1584. For exclusive photographic art and reproductions Hahnemühle's products inspire greatness because of their consistent color accuracy and extreme color gamut and black and white nuances which are perfect for fine digital art.
The inkset used to produce your work was the world-famous Epson Ultrachrome inks which combine the long lasting print life of pigment inks, with the wide color gamut traditionally found only with dye inks. In a recent study, Henry Wilhelm, a leading authority on photo longevity, projected Epson inks to last for up 100 years.
These prints were produced using a process which has been developed and evolved over 15 years drawing on a wide variety of experiences in digital publishing and fine art reproduction. The result is a print which was produced with the utmost attention to detail and quality which faithfully reproduces and captures every detail of the original on a truly archival and ultra high-quality media using one of the most modern and technically advanced processes available. The prints were then hand trimmed and inspected to ensure they embodied the highest possible quality and were an accurate reflection of the original source."

This beautiful piece was originally donated to SND by artist Leah Hartlep. Leah is an Iowa native currently attending Iowa State University majoring in Design. When not occupied with homework and studios, Leah spends time with her two year old Doberman, Ilsa. She also finds time to use her creative skills to help Dobermans in need. Thanks so much for this incredibly generous donation Leah, you will help lots of Dobes in need!! We would also like to thank the Peter and Darlene Pavlovich at Pupshine Gallery for doing such a great job printing and matting these prints, and for working with Leah to make sure she could produce all ten of them. Finally, we would like to thank the members of the Doberman Pinscher Discussion Forum who pooled their resources to help pay for the printing costs of the Hartlep collection. This online forum is a very useful resource for the discussion of all things Doberman. Without their generosity, we wouldn't have the prints. Thanks DPDF!!
This wonderful print has some auction history with us too - it was originally won last November, raising much needed funds for a great Dobe named Apollo. The generous woman who purchased the print is a very active supporter of SND and does some rescue work in Atlanta, Georgia. As it should happen, Suzanne now has a rescue Doberman she is caring for who recently developed heart disease. 'Haley' is a marvelous senior girl who has had some rough spots in life recently, and Suzanne sent this print back in so we could raise money for her - please read about Haley below! We're very happy to know that Haley has a new crew of loving friends in Suzanne, Connie, Joe and Andy. It was very hard for Suzanne to send this print back in from her collection, but Haley needs our help - thanks so much Suzanne!! (The print is in brand new condition, looking just like it did when it left us six months ago.) This is indeed a special auction for a special Dobe - all Dobes in need can use friends like you Suzanne!!
We
are auctioning off this marvelous print to help raise money for Haley (left),
a Doberman definitely in need. Haley is a beautiful eight year old girl
in Georgia who has been dealt some bad turns by life recently. Her family
was relocated to Germany, a move that really hurt all involved. Haley found
a new, loving home and things started looking better for the sweet, sweet
girl. Unfortunately, after Haley had to be taken to the emergency clinic,
it was determined that Haley is suffering from heart disease. She is making
gradual progress thanks to lots of love and medical care being provided
by her rescuer and her new family. We need your help - this girl should
be able to continue receiving all the love she can handle, and we think
she deserves that chance! The proceeds from this auction (minus
the fees for eBay and PayPal if applicable) will go to help Haley
with her original and continuing medical care. You can read more about
Haley (and see some pictures of the girl) as well as our other Special
Needs Dobes at the SND website. The address is on our About
Us page (it's against eBay rules to post 'visit us' links directly
on auctions!). Also check out our Other
Auctions, we run lots of different items. Thanks for your help,
it is much appreciated!
